Overnight Soaked Low Carb "Bircher"


A great way to ensure you don't forget to enjoy a nourishing breakfast, is to make it the night before so it's ready to go when you are.


This delicious soaked bircher is free from any processed or refined carbohydrates which can cause inflammation and elevate blood sugar levels. This breakfast packs a punch with nutrition dense, ingredients such as hemp seeds, chia seeds, psyllium husk, almonds, berries and coconut cream.


Feeding your body a nourishing breakfast that will support healthy cell growth and reduce inflammation is a great way to start the day, setting you up with the energy to tackle the day ahead.


This is a great breakfast option for anyone who is battling cancer, diabetes or other degenerative diseases as well as anyone who just wants a healthy breakfast which will help nourish their body.



Ingredients:

  • 3 Level Tablespoons Hulled Hemp Seed

  • 2 Level Tablespoons Chia Seed

  • 1 Level Tablespoon Psyllium Husk

  • 1 Level Tablespoon Oats - Preferably Steel Cut or Organic. Not Instant Oats

  • 1 Level Tablespoon Almond Flour/Meal

  • 1/2 Level Tablespoon Granulated Stevia

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

  • 100 mls Coconut Cream - Preferably Organic and BPA free can (Look on the label)

  • 1/3 Cup Water - Purified

  • 1/4 Medium Apple - Peeled and Cut into Small Cubes

  • 1/2 Level Tablespoon Goji Berries - Dehydrated (Optional)

  • 50 gm Mixed Berries - Frozen or Fresh

  • 1 Heaped Tablespoon Coconut Yoghurt - Preferably Organic with No Added Sugar


Directions:


  1. Add all ingredients into a 500ml jar apart from the berries and coconut yoghurt and mix together until thoroughly combined

  2. Place in refrigerator overnight or at least 60 minutes

  3. Remove from fridge and top with coconut yoghurt and berries. If the mixture has gone a little too firm, you can stir through a little more coconut cream then top with berries and yoghurt


TIP: You may wish to make a large batch of this breakfast and store it in a jar. Find a measuring cup and figure out how much one serve is of the combined mix then simply scoop out what you need the night before, place it in a jar and then add your coconut cream and water and refrigerate over night.

While the amounts of each ingredient are optimal to help nourish your cells, if you are finding it too much you can reduce the Hemp Seed and Chia Seed by one Tablespoon each.


If you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment, your taste buds and appetite may vary from day to day and that is normal. You may not feel like eating, but is is incredibly important to keep nourishing your cells to give them the tools they need to fight and for you to maintain a healthy weight.


Some days you may need to force yourself to eat, even when not hungry. Please try to eat as much of this breakfast as possible. With every bite, give thanks to the nourishment you are receiving and know in your heart that it is helping your body heal itself.
